Flying around!
The hero of my previous posts had gone off for a long holiday to Europe. His benefactors were paying for his trip, so that he experiences other cultures and comes back wiser and the like. And, all he did with the money was to go to Amsterdam, and sampled the Coffee from the Coffeeshops there. His sole missive from there read as follows:
Dearest Remus
The coffee here's quite good, and wholly unmixed. Elevating though the experience is, it takes a while for my perception becomes clearer. To make matters worse, I sit and watch, my dear friend Adhiraa (Awesome fun, and a perfect traveling mate), getting wiser and clearer.
The other day, we were at this monument, a tall tower commemorating war heroes, darkness had set in, and, this seagull had lost its way. I was in a rather elevated state. Darkness had set in, and this seagull had lost its way, and was alone in the darkness. There were people all around, and no one seemed to notice it. I looked at it. Our eyes met. I wished it would come closer, so that I could see how big it was. It walked towards me. And, then, I hoped it could fly away and find its way back home. It flew up, and then, I felt it was abandoning me. I wished it would come back, but, then, I wished it would be better if it were to go home.
It soared up, and flew away, and, then, when, it vanished behind the monument, I felt the first pangs of separation, and wished it would come back.
And, well, she flew around the monument, and came back to me. And, then, again, she flew around, and then, she came back.
You can imagine my excitement when I stood, waiting for her to fly around, to come back, and then, when she was with me, for realizing that she should go away, go home, for that it was what was best for her, and, yet, selfishly hoping that she could just stay.
And, then, the dream came to an end.
Hope you are doing well, Remus.
Will see you in a fortnight,
Until then,
I remain,
Sincerely yours,
Harry Haller
